I am creating a poster for MICA’s screening of Gary Hustwit’s latest documentary, Objectified. In order to do this, I tracked pretty much every object I touched throughout the course of a day and then proceeded to illustrate each one. I wanted to allude to Build’s poster for the film, but take the basic idea a bit further and put a concept behind it. I will post the final and printed version in my portfolio.

One of my refined symbols at 3" and 1"

You may remember that seemingly torturous exercise I posted photo evidence of a little while back? Well after two more weeks of development, this is where those 1,750 symbols have gotten me. I first narrowed all 1,750 down to my four strongest solutions, then from there chose one of the concepts to refine even further. This tree constructed of speech bubbles stems from the root words “growth” and “democracy”. (more…)
