Oppressive Type: Insomnia

In order to show the "normal" sleeping portion of the population what it is like having Insomnia, I screen printed this typographic treatment onto pillowcases with glow-in-the-dark ink. The luminescent letter forms keep even the deepest of sleepers awake.

Did you screen print it by hand? I love this type of art thats modern but has a use.

  2. Andy writes:

I did in fact! It was my first time truly doing the process from beginning to end and I really enjoyed it. Hopefully I will get the opportunity to do some more printing…

I want to try it someday soon. is it tedious?

  4. Andy writes:

Not at all, at least not for me. You don’t have to do a million prints of the same thing if you don’t want to. I found the process to be quite meditative and rewarding.

I may have to look into it now i think! let me know if you make another one I would love to buy it.

Love it! Your work is awesome. My friend (and developer) came across your work and wrote about your new design for Monopoly in his blog, so I thought I’d check out your site.
