The super talented and attractive Anthony Mattox discovered this wonderful table of CSS color names you can use in your stylesheet! Some of these are freakin’ ridiculous. I knew you could use “Black” and “Red” and what not in CSS, but I never would have guessed that “MediumSpringGreen” or, Anthony’s favorite, “PapayaWhip” would work. I think “Peru” is the best; what’s your favorite?

  1. My favorite CSS color is Burly Wood

  2. Isn’t NavajoWhite a little bigoted for a color?

  3. @Anthony – Yes, tremendously so. The Dub-3-C don’t play by no one’s rules though.

  4. austin5/23

@anthony. yes/no. if you are requiring specificity, use RGB valiues or #abcdef / #`123456… the colour names are vague, but considering moccasin and indianred, perhaps they should call the color you mention PuebloWhite (as in the color of a building) instead…

Many pleasing earthy/pastel colours are found in architecture (and arts/crafts!) in the U.S Southwest. Many of those colors are reflections of the natural surroundings. We should all be so lucky as to have as much color in our surroundings.
